Dylan Dog Dead of Night Movie with Brandon Routh

Brandon Routh (hew was the superhero in Superman Returns) got the lead role as Dylan Dog in Dead of Night, an upcoming movie adaptation of the horror comic series, ‘Dylan Dog,’ created by Tiziano Sclavi. The film is directed by Kevin Munroe. Besides Brandon Routh the cast includes Sam Huntington, Anita Briem and Taye Diggs. It should be released sometime in 2010, quite probably around Halloween.

Here's a first look at Brandon Routh as Dylan Dog, a detective who investigates all things supernatural:

Brandon Routh as Dylan Dog - Dead of Night MoviePlot:
"The adventures of supernatural private eye, Dylan Dog, who seeks out the monsters of the Louisiana bayou in his signature red shirt, black jacket, and blue jeans."

Director Kevin Munroe explains why Dylan Dog is a character worth to base a movie on:

"Dylan Dog is a character that brilliantly mixes charisma, affability, and hard-driven principles. I couldn’t be happier with Brandon’s portrayal — he meshed all of those aspects into a charming action hero, funny as he was ass-kicking. I can’t wait to share his work with the world."

Superman would definitely match this description, so I guess Brandon Routh is the right choice for the lead role of the movie Dead of Night.
